A Little about New Inceptions

Creator (noun) cre·a·tor:  a person or thing that brings something into existence. synonyms: author, writer, designer, maker, producer, entrepreneur, etc.

Inception (noun) in·cep·tion: an act, process, or instance of beginning

“The best way for you to predict your future is to create it.”

– Abraham Lincoln

In short, the mission of New Inceptions is to provide reanimated Creators from around the world with the community and resources they need to thrive and build outstanding lives through work that matters not only to them, but possibly the rest of the world. When in the community, those individuals, called Renegades, pledge not only to support one another, but to also give a positive atmosphere to those that are in their daily lives.

In order to support that community, New Inceptions provides materials (blog, podcast, groups, etc.), online forums, and coaching focused on improving self awareness, positive mindsets, relationships, overall fitness, and personal branding. Ideally, we want to help our members move from being stuck in a job they dread going to, to becoming a business leader and expert in an industry they’re passionate about AND living a life they’re proud of.

The Reason Why…

Meaningful work is something that many people, if not most, seek.
What the world look like if we all found that work? The work that made us fulfilled?
What if you were to surround yourself with people who made that life a reality?
What would it look like? How differently would you treat people – your loved ones AND people you meet out in your day to day life? If you knew what your personal mission was, how much harder would you pursue opportunities in your life? Would you be more choosy about those you did follow? What kind of ripple effect could you start if you didn’t have to spend each day dreading the next working day?

Through over 100 podcasts interviews, here’s one thing we’ve learned: When we focus our time and talents on the work that means something to us, it starts to matter to those around us. This is how you start to change the world, one person – one life – at a time.

Believe it or not, living this way of life is more possible than you think. Due to the internet, it’s more possible than it’s ever been. Why? Because with the web, you can surround yourself with the people who are already doing it.. We want to expose you to that new world – to those creators who make the impossible not only possible, but normal. This is why New Inceptions exists.

We believe that we are here to lead a revolution of people who do work that has a personal meaning.

And hopefully, before long, you’ll start to feel like Maureen, one of our thousands of community members:

“I had listened to podcasts and gone to club meetings about doing something that mattered to me for several years. I could never actually pull the trigger. It wasn’t until I started listening to the AoL podcast and through New Inceptions in general, that I finally felt that I could start my own show. It took me awhile, but I finally started it! Now that I have that under my belt, I feel that the sky’s the limit in my career now! Keep doing what you’re doing, guys!”
– Maureen M., Dallas

“There must be another way.”

That’s usually the thought that leads people right here.
And the answer is yes. Yes, there is. And it’s a lot more possible than you realize. Our job is to shed light on that path – and to show you you’re not alone. Not even close.
People from every country in the world use our career and connection tools on a monthly basis, and with our free FB Group, the Junto, one thing’s for sure…

You’re not alone.

Maybe your story to this point sounds a little something like Ameeta’s, who’s been with us for several years now

“In quiet moments my mind hears the advancing ticking clock of my life on Earth. My anxiety builds and my guilt grows, it can no longer be avoided. I know i need to matter. I know need to be and live on PURPOSE now.”

Don’t be mistaken, finding your own new inception takes a lot of effort from each individual – especially if you’ve gone the traditional route. Along the way, you’re going to experience self doubt, indecisiveness, and a myriad of other negative emotions. But once you figure out what makes you tick, you’re also going to feel higher highs than you had before.

So get ready to cover a lot of ground. We, your support staff here at New Inceptions and in the Junto, are constantly learning, reading, traveling, exploring, connecting with others and testing everything under the sun. From playing with cryptocurrency to building business and projects of pure fulfillment. Every bit of it helps us better understand ourselves so that we can better push our own limits and help you put your dent in the world.

It’s time to explore the rabbit hole.

Meet Your Support Team

JC Preston – Entrepreneurial Aficionado and Creative Tech Engineer

Hey, I’m JC. John for short. The pretty gal in front is my hot wife, Maria.

We’re just your typical married couple from Indiana. While I’m the Chief Education Officer and founder of New Inceptions, Maria really is the behind the scenes driver and my better half. She holds me accountable daily and whenever I have self doubts creep in, she obliterates them with ease.

Personally, I’ve helped young geeks, leaders, and professionals level up in all aspects of their lives. In the past I’ve taught classrooms of students and occasionally coached 1 on 1. Today I focus more on informing and connecting members of the Renegade Community.

Maybe you’re here because you see people around you struggling with their goals in life. Perhaps you’re struggling with your work life yourself and you don’t know what your next step is. You feel that you’re having a quarter life crisis (or even a mid-life crisis – no age discrimination here!) and you’re stuck in a rut.

Maybe you just want to become more aware of the world that’s around you and figure out what’s really going on.

Whatever you’re here for, thank you for sticking around.

Throughout my life I’ve always considered myself normal. Most of it, I was an academic. I always wanted to be a teacher, but I wasn’t sure about what I wanted to teach.  I’ve had so many interests in life, so many things that I’m good (not great) at… it was hard to focus on just one thing.

I feel that I’m a rather well-rounded person. A jack of all trades. Maybe you can relate.

In 2008, I came to the realization that being a part of academia as a career wasn’t for me. Just like Corporate America, Academia is an Ivory Tower as well. If you’re not willing to play by their rules, then you’re not going to get far.

There’s nothing like realizing that a past dream of yours isn’t exactly your dream anymore.

In 2009, I graduated with a Masters in Organizational Leadership with a focus in Entrepreneurship.

Great. What now? Do I make use of my undergrad in electrical engineering or do something else?

To make a long story short, for the next couple of years I tried to keep lying to myself that I was a formal academic – teaching at Ivy Tech as an Algebra Instructor.

I got a couple of things from that experience:

  • An awareness of how much people’s attitudes towards life can vary. There are competitive people and passive people. Some people are trying to get somewhere in life, others are just letting the current take them wherever.
  • How important it is to do something that you have a passion in as a career. Am I good at math? Yes. Am I decent at teaching it? Yes. Do I want to? No.
Some people have higher levels of tolerance of doing things they don’t have a passion for. They tolerate their job daily. Is that in any way ideal? Of course not. Keep looking until you find that something!
  • How to get over over-thinking things. Life isn’t as hard as many of us competitive types make it out to be. Everyone begins as a newbie at whatever they’re interested in doing. Hell, I was a forever alone-er until I started serial dating just for the heck of it. Quickly thereafter, I turned a friendship into a spouse. (Which, by the way, is the way it should be. Most of society says “date first, become friends second”. If you want to play the relationship lottery, do it that way. I don’t know one person that that has successfully worked out for.)

In 2013, I made the jump and got my training wheels in small business with America Multi-Sport. I still continue to be the media coordinator for the company, but as of 2015, I’m transitioning to focusing on New Inceptions.

Probably just like you, I’ve heard or seen plenty of success in my life. Some of that success is direct. Other success I’ve lived indirectly through helping others figure out their path. Either way, I’ve come to find out that we truly can accomplish anything that we put our minds to and become a master at any level we desire.

One thing that’s different between when I was in school vs what I know now, is that I now know my strengths and weaknesses. Which I recommend you figure out as soon as possible.

Based on several sources, I’ve realized that my biggest strength is helping people to learn how to connect with ideas and people in their life. Not only do I want to explore the unknown aspects of life, but I want to take others along for the ride.

Next thing? Let’s get you out of the Matrix and see if we can make you a Jedi at life.

And finally, please read this carefully:

I don’t consider myself a guru of anything (as you can tell above). What I learn and report about are not secrets. But the kinds of things I’ll be teaching might seem a little out there at first. In fact, you might just downright disagree with it. My 25 year old self just might too. But that’s what makes life interesting. We’re all different… and we’re constantly finding out more about who we are and what we believe is important.

Most of society is geared towards making us think as followers. I’m going to strive to help you get out of that mindset and into your own.

That said, while I have been a coach in the past, being paid for that particular job isn’t a top priority of mine. Not because I don’t want to help, it’s just that there are better coaches out there that I could point you to. My job here, first and foremost, is to be a teacher, informer, and connector.

Becoming the best version of yourself is going to take a lot of time and a lot of hard work. You’ll need a lot of patience and probably a little bit of luck too. (Even though, I believe that luck is where opportunity and preparedness collide.)

I know I have a relatable and inspiring background. However, I know your life is simply different than mine has been. We’re going to have different mental blocks. Just know that I speak from experience and that I don’t want you to think of me as being some unreachable all-knowing superstar. This is just my way of paying it forward. Anything that you have a question about which is said within the New Inceptions website, a product, or other media should be researched by you so you can come up with your own conclusion.

I’d appreciate the input to making things better around here.

Finally, don’t expect any hard sales from me. I can’t stand it when people do it to me. I’ve had to do it a couple of times in my life and I sucked at it each time. Kudos to those who can do it successfully. To me, it just felt weird. Instead, when I do come up with products from time to time, just know they’re there to actually give a solution to problems that I’ve researched and gone out of my way to develop. Your support is appreciated. 🙂

So I think that’s it! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you soon!

Cheers!

-JC

Alumni Contributors

It’s been said that no one gets anywhere in life without the help of others. While that might not be the case in all situations, it definitely has a meaning here at New Inceptions.

While we’re constantly going to be moving forward and changing over time depending on the personalities that are on the team, we didn’t want to forget those who have helped in some form or fashion of us getting here.

So here’s a big THANK YOU to past members of our contribution team. May you always find success in your future endeavours and New Inceptions (is that too corny?)!

Laila Rahmatian – Fitness Astronaut

“Be the change you wish to see.” That is Laila’s life mantra. Her biggest life driver is passion. When she was growing up she thought she would one day be an astronaut and help mankind. While working at NASA, she noticed her passion from space travel started morphing into sustainability and then into the world of health and fitness. Realizing her passion was to help people live healthy lives, Laila left her job as a civil engineer in NYC to re-engineer her technical background and help mankind one person at a time as a health and fitness coach entrepreneur.

“I won’t do anything unless I’m passionate about it.”

Laila met JC at Purdue where they both served in the co-ed service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. Obsessed with helping people and building young entrepreneurs, Laila joined New Inceptions and the Angles of Lattitude Podcast wanting to create a sustainable flow of new ideas for people of all ages that want to develop themselves and do the unexpected.

Clay Green – EnthusiastiClay!

Clay started by enabling and empowering Nuclear Reactor Operators on submarines! Enabling them to operate the complexity of a nuclear reactor, on a submarine, under the ice, with a torpedo chasing them, and a fire burning next to them! Then he enjoyed empowering and enabling engineers and managers in the highly stressful semiconductor manufacturing industry for several companies, including Intel. Just when you think ‘wow’… step into the next level – Clay helps adults learning how to ride motorcycles understand how dramatically differently their brains are operating, and basically, how to stay alive!

After an incident with a deer, at a few mph over the speed limit (where he didn’t crash!!), Clay really dove into the mind. Nowadays, he helps business owners and higher level executives understand how their deepest desires and fears dramatically affect every decision they make – unless they understand a few key principles, and develop a few key habits!
